CARING FOR AUSTRALIANS, FROM THE GROUND UP

Across rural and remote Australia, there are communities shaped by resilience, generosity and deep connection to place, where distance is part of daily life.

For almost 100 years, the Royal Flying Doctor Service has been there alongside them.

For some Australians, healthcare is close by. For others, access takes planning, patience and trust. And for those living remotely, care can depend on weather, distance and timing, long before it becomes urgent.

Every two minutes, somewhere in Australia, someone needs the Flying Doctor. It might be a farmer injured on a property, a mother with a young child in a remote town, an Elder needing care, or a traveller who never expected to need help so far from home.

When the call comes, the Flying Doctor responds, delivering emergency aeromedical care, primary health services, mental health support, dental care, immunisations and 24‑hour telehealth. Care that meets people where they are, helping communities to stay healthy and connected.

As the Royal Flying Doctor Service approaches its centenary in 2028, its role remains unchanged: supporting communities in the moments that require care, caring for Australians from the ground up.
